Tyreek Hill: Miami Dolphins releasing former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver after four seasons with team

The Miami Dolphins are releasing veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill after four seasons, NFL Network reported on Monday.

Hill played just four times for the Dolphins during the 2025 season before suffering a major knee injury that would require year-ending surgery.

The 31-year-old, who dislocated his left knee and sustained a torn ACL, will now become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

News of Hill's release came on the same day it was reported Miami are also moving on from veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb.

Hill entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft pick for the Chiefs in 2016 before forging one of the league's most dynamic partnerships with quarterback Patrick Mahomes amid Kansas City's rise to dominance.

He recorded four 1,000-yard receiving campaigns with the Chiefs and helped guide the team to victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LIV at the end of the 2019 season.

The Chiefs later traded Hill to the Dolphins in March 2022 before Miami made him the highest-paid wide receiver in football at the time with a four-year $120m extension.

He managed 119 catches for a career-high 1,710 yards in his first season, before recording 119 catches for a league-high 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023.

Hill was then limited to 959 yards as the Dolphins missed out on the playoffs in 2024, before injury derailed what would prove his final year with Miami.
